Student Veterinary Physiotherapist
Personal Development Plan including; SWOT analysis, goals and key actions.
Taking stock: SWOT analysis of my current situation, including evidence:

Strengths:
-
I am a driven and hardworking individual, this is necessary to complete my MSc and run my own business as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in future.
-
I am out-going and find it easy to converse with new people, because of my natural ability to be social and interact with people I build up a rapport quickly with peers. This is an advantage for me as throughout the three years of study I believe the group will need each other for support and help at times, it will also be beneficial for me as I build a client base as a MSc Veterinary Physiotherapist in future.
Weaknesses:
-
I struggle speaking in front of larger audiences, this will be a weakness as there will be occasions when I need to address a larger audience in my course and there will be exams that need me to speak in front of people.
-
One of my weaknesses is time management, I underestimate how much time I will need to complete smaller tasks which then runs into my time I have set for larger tasks that I need to complete. Time management is a skill, I am sure I will develop this and improve throughout the next year and continue to do so in future.
Opportunities:
-
An opportunity to study and pursue a professional career in something I am passionate about.
-
The opportunity to develop my academic skills, e.g. report writing, research and critical analysis. I will also be developing my time management, which as I stated earlier is a weakness of mine.
-
I will have the opportunity to practise speaking in front of larger audiences, this is a weakness of mine due to my nerves I suffer in front of crowds.

Threats:
-
There is always the threat that I may fail an exam and with the chance of resitting the exam only once more if I were to fail that I would not be able to complete my course.
-
If I don’t develop my public speaking I may perform badly in an exam which requires me to speak to a group.
Key Actions
-
Complete my MSc.
-
Set up my business.
-
Market myself successfully, using social media and becoming interactive with potential clients to gain their interest.
-

-
